BBHTE Bombers Happy tongue eggbutt
Description
The Eggbutt cheek piece prevents pinching of the lips and gives a solid feel against the side of the face. It also prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower than the loose ring and also introduces light poll pressure.
The Happy Tongue is a solid mouthpiece uniquely ported to give maximum tongue relief. The standard Happy Tongue is curved to be softer on the bars and slow in applying tongue pressure.
Cheekpiece
The cheekpiece is available in 2 sizes, standard and a slightly smaller model for a pony.
Mouthpiece
This is by far our most successful design – we recommend for all young horses and those that show tongue sensitive signs. The 4 available ports have been scaled according to each width. This ensures accurate fitting over the bars and eliminates the rocking movement which occurs when the port is too wide. The Happy Tongue is also available as a straight mouthpiece which is slightly stronger.
All our bits are made from blue sweet iron, because it:
- oxidises easily
- encourages salivation
- helps bit acceptance
- is warm and sweet
Please note the blue will fade with use.

Customer Reviews
Average customer rating:
Have been having issues with my cob having a very busy tongue and sticking it out! Tried this bit with great success. Much happier in his mouth and it does exactly what it says. Couldn't be happier.and dressage legal! The change really is remarkable. Great service from The Bit Bank - highly recommend. Couldn't be easier. Thank You.
The service from the Bit Bank is second to none - the help and advice I have received has been brilliant. I was struggling with the sizing and the next option to try and despite me sending numerous emails they have always been replied to very promptly. I really like this bit and my horse has started settling and is no longer snatching and sticking his tongue out as much. He is starting to work into a long and low contact, very pleased the port is now dressage legal. I am now going to try the loose ring version of this bit and hope this solves the issues of snatching as the difference is remarkable in this bit.
